The reading materials:
Readings are curated for consideration of ethics as applied to issues of race and ethnicity. The reflection here is two paragraphs on the Micro and Macro ethical aspects. Go back to Chapter 1 of the Smith textbook or the Week 1 article from the BBC on ethics.
You can use some aspect of that article to approach the reflection here (i.e., Approaches, Moral Maps). You are using a meta-analysis -- why is this an ethical issue? How might we approach this issue, and why?
The Micro aspect is ethics about individuals, individuals' everyday experiences. So, choose from the readings and describe a particular ethical issue on the micro aspect, and some suggestions on how others could approach the issue (and/or your thoughts on the solutions suggested), using the BBC article as a framework.
The Macro aspect is ethics about the system -- how to address ethical issues on a larger scale. So here, choose one of the readings and summarize the problem that is the focus, and what they suggest as solutions. Do these solutions suggest a particular ethical theory or combination of theories?
If you know of good resources regarding micro or macro issues in race and ethnicity, you may share those as part of either paragraph.

Problems the Organizations Are Trying to Address
The Trail of Tears is the name given to the individuals from the Cherokee who were forced to migrate from their inherited lands in Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and North Carolina to the western side of the Mississippi River. The journey took place in the winter and fall of 1838-39 and was deadly for a quarter of the Cherokee population. The Indian Problem, Worcester vs. Georgia, and the Indian Removal Act were the main problems the organizations attempted to resolve.
The white Americans, especially those who stayed on the western border, tended to fear and resent the Native Americans they came across. These whites believed American Indians were unskilled, alien individuals who took over the land that white colonists desired and thought the whites merited the right to own the land (History.Com Editors, 2023). Some officials, like President George Washington, purported that the most effective method to address the Indian issue was to enlighten the Native Americans. The aim of the civilization was interested in transforming Native Americans to be like whites by motivating them to change to Christianity, study to speak English, and embrace
