Corruption in the media sector is prevented, especially because of being over-reliant in advertisement to get revenues. The hypothesis in this article is that if the government wants to have a fair media outlet, it should reduce the number of advertisements run through different media channels . The researchers' methods to get their answers involve having people who have worked in the media houses before answer certain questions. The former government employees have also been a part of the interviews to determine the complicity between media houses and those in government positions . According to this research, the more a government works with media houses in advertisements, the higher the authorities will review the information being given to the public.

Television and other mass media play a key role in influencing consumers’ decisions. Rather than work for the benefit of the people, a mass culture that media houses have advocated has been used to relax the majority of people that provide labor to industries . The entertainments are almost the same with the aim of making sure people forget the misery of their working conditions. There is hardly any choice that the big corporations give the consumers. This article has used data from government agencies and other peer-reviewed articles to determine how the media influence consumers . The result of the study was that imagery plays a major role in influencing the purchasing behaviors of customers across the globe. Like most other companies across the globe, the TV industry aims to make a profit. The company will do this by attracting a large number of advertisers. Such adverts may not always be good for the consumer.

Article corruption by media capture: the effect of corruption by Samarth Vaidya and Rupayan Gupta addresses the question "if media competition facilitates corruption." The article compares governments' ideal choices on whether to engage in corruption by capturing media outlets through bribery (Gupta, 2015). Then, the author compares two business structures, monopoly, and duopoly, to come up with a conclusion. The authors use research, literature review, interviews, and re-examining findings from other articles to collect data. In comparing, the monopoly and duopoly, the authors find it is difficult for a duopoly media outlet to report governments' bribery and corruption compared to a monopoly. A competitor might cooperate with the government in a duopoly, compromising the media's authenticity compared to a monopoly. The article concludes that if the media firm is weak to expose the government, the bribes required to capture them are lower in duopoly than in monopoly; thus, media competition facilitates corruption. ...
