What Makes A Life Worth Living
Life is worthwhile with a purpose, and life is a learning experience as every experience teaches us something. Motivation to continue living should go beyond performing duties and obligations as life is meaningful when there is satisfaction and a focus on maintaining one’s well-being. Socrates’ ideas on philosophical life emphasize the pursuit of happiness and purpose, but he identifies happiness with virtue (Philosophy.com, n.d). However, my view of happiness in life is things that add value such that I am motivated to seek happiness and contentment. People choose how to live, and loving yourself is necessary to live a more fulfilled life.
