Introduction
When it comes to the changing digital world, a lot can be admired while at the same time, detested. This therefore, goes without saying that it is almost impossible, to simply focus on the good part without acknowledging the bad. Digital and technological advancement has brought a lot of good stuff. It has increased convenience through and through. The speeds of transactions have also been increased, and people can comfortable enjoy transactions done within minutes, if not seconds. Throughout the course, I have learnt a number of things. Of most importance however, is that my core beliefs and assumptions about ethical perspectives and digital technology have greatly changed due to the new things leant. The main thing that has changed is that I have become more cautious.
Changed Perspectives
The beliefs and assumptions about the benefits associated with digital technologies have significantly changed after studying about blockchain technology. It is critical to comprehend that although digital technologies such as blockchain technology have made it possible for individuals who do not trust each other to conduct and complete transactions online, it is also associated with various ethical issues that would result in great harm that would surpass their potential benefits. Ideally, digital technologies would be regarded as effective if they effectively meet the security, privacy, regulatory, legal and ethical requirements. If technology is inefficient in one of these essentials then it becomes unreliable.
