Bar graph: Causes of Improper Payments
The following analysis shows the number of commonly occurring causes of improper payments. Depending on the value of the of the improper payments, the bar graph can create a visual estimation on how far the gap among the different causes. Based from the graph, the most occurring cause of improper payments is insufficient documentation in both national percentage and provider percentage while the least cause of improper payments is inconsistent records. Additionally, bar graphs allow the viewer to identify the different patterns and differences in the trending quantities more conveniently compared to viewing the raw data in tabular form. Data levels that are nominal and ordinal in nature are the best fit in using the bar graph. The nominal level is mainly for classification while the ordinal level is for ranking quantities.
