During the direct observation sessions, I will collect baseline data. According to Cooper et al. (2020), baseline data works as the control in single-case studies. It is collected before the intervention is administered. It allows the ABA practitioner to compare the client's behavior before and after the intervention to establish the efficacy of the intervention. I will also collect Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence (ABC) data. According to Piazza et al. (2021), ABC data allows the practitioner to understand the client’s behavior by exploring what happens before and after a behavior. Specifically, ABA data offers insights into why the client behaves in a particular manner.
