6-1 Describe the differences between the main four categories of the CPI assessment.
How can this assessment lead to a better understanding of self and how the individual interacts to others? Explain.
The CPI is a powerful tool that is used in assisting people improve their performance. The CPI also assess the level of motivation and satisfaction among individuals. The CPI assessment tool is very important for the life coaches. There are four main categories of the CPI test. The first class is concerned with measures of self-assurance, interpersonal capability, adjustments, and composure. The second category measures character, socialization, responsibility, and interpersonal values an individual has (Soto & John, 2009). Achievement potential and intellectual efficiency come in on the third category, which explores room for improvement. Lastly, CPI evaluates interest modes and rational modes, which tend to decipher which career fits an individual best.
An in-depth understanding of self from the report is crucial as it directs one to dwell on a career which appreciates and exploits their values. This distinction from a 360 degrees view allows individuals to perform better in solving problems that are directly related to their potential strengths (Groth-Marnat, 2009). It rules out scenarios where one is likely to be overwhelmed with making informed decisions because of their incompetence in such professions, which are contrary to their strengths.
