Our cultural values are reflected by various aspects of our daily endeavors, culture influence our lives giving us meaning. Cultural traits influence how the society operates. Structural-functional approach views culture as a complex process that enables humans meets its basic needs (Macionis, p.72, 2014). Contrary to this argument, the social-conflict approach believes that cultural systems cannot address human needs fairly (Macionis, p. 74, 2014). The social conflict approach justifies its argument by linking culture and inequality. According to the feminist theory, culture has defined males more than female; this explains why inequality has long existed because of the dominant masculine beliefs (Macionis, p.75, 2014).
