Barrier to Justice

Topic/Issue Presented
As you conclude this course, consider whether you believe "justice" can be achieved in the US immigration policy. What is the future of immigration in the United States? Is it possible to find a solution to the conflict in the system? The answer to both seems to be: It depends.
In this short-answer post, you will watch and reflect on the documentary that reveals how the US policies on immigration are developed.
Instructions
You will watch the video to see the process for how US policies on immigration are developed. This reflection is not based on new lessons. Rather, you are graded on your ability to incorporate the prior learning modules to form your final opinion.
(1) Watch with this video to analyze the political barriers to reforming the immigration process.

(2) As you watch the video, identify the specific barriers you see exist that you believe prevents progress be made in immigration policy.
(3) Based on our prior learning modules, reflect what you believe are the reasons that underlie the inability to make progress in immigration policy (e.g., fears and biases against immigrants; immigration policies; etc.)

(4) Analyze the nature and extent of the constitutional protections as applied to immigrants. In about 500 words (approx. 1 page) address:
(4a) Show you understand the controversy by outlining what you believe are the barriers to making progress in immigration policy. Avoid generalities (e.g., "discrimination"). Instead, describe the barriers using specific scenes/scenarios from the video (e.g. "After watching the video, I believe discrimination of the politicians prevents laws to be passed to protect immigrants. For example, in the video there was a scene that showed....").
(4b) Identify at least two (2) course lessons that explains why you believe the barriers exist. Describe what you believe are the real barriers to the US making progress in reforming its immigration policy to be more humane. Do you believe it is the perception of migrants from the media, public, lawmakers, courts, etc.? Avoid just listing generally (e.g. "we learned about the discrimination"). Instead, specifically describe the lesson and how it applies (e.g., "this reminds me of the lesson where we explored how politicians exploit fears. When I saw .... it seemed like the politician Z was talking about his fear because..."). Do not just retype the lessons, rather, you must provide your own narrative and explanation based on the cited materials.
(4c) Based on the course material and the video, describe what changes should occur in the immigration system to overcome these barriers towards achieving justice. Do you believe the legal, political, and economic institutions will allow for the change in US's immigration policy? Avoid generalities; specifically detail the changes using specifically cited references to the materials.
Grading Criteria
Late Policy applies- this means you automatically have 48hr grace period without asking
Remember, this is not an "analysis," meaning this is not an extensive paper. It is shorter in length, and not as much detail is required. There is no "right" answer and it is not a writing exam (meaning I don't deduct for typos).
Still, it is a graded paper that requires a meaningful and substantive reflection. It must be your answer/reflection; you will not get credit (and it could be considered plagiarism) to simply use someone else's movie review or analysis of it. Also, this means, do not simply give a summary of the videos. Instead, show you meaningfully reflected on what you saw and how it affected your view of the lessons.
More than a citation to the materials is required. You must explain the example/excerpt in your own words, and you must specifically and directly connect it to the lessons. You are graded on your demonstrated understanding of the concepts by the relevance and accuracy of the examples you chose.
Your answer should reflect your ability to:
Recall and retrieve relevant knowledge from your course material;
Recognize pertinent examples that specifically illustrate your understanding of the example you chose. You must decide which examples are relevant and apply to the problem.
Critically analyze the course materials by making and explaining the connections between concepts and depicted accounts. The more on-point your example is, the greater your points;
Summarize and highlight the main points briefly;
Duplicate, irrelevant, inaccurate, and/or loosely-related excerpts will affect your grade
