What is and should be the role of politicians in socializing people regarding political choices?
Political socialization is the process in which civilians crystalize their values and behaviours in order to become persistent in whole lifespan (Neundorf & Smets, 2017). Through socialization, the politicians play numerous roles in enhancing people to make sound choices. These duties include transmitting political information to people and initiating public motion where each individual is given an equal opportunity to discuss and make choices. Politicians conduct civic education to create awareness and comprehensive understanding among society members, enabling them to make wise choices in the political framework. Through conducting political rallies, politicians can socialise people by mobilising them to participate in a political agenda such as voting and availing themselves in public meeting to discuss important concepts and tailor them in making the right choices (Mbavu, 2017). Politicians, as socialization agents train civilians on how to participate in a particular process such as voting, thus equipping them with skills and knowledge to make the right choices in political activities.
What are the causes and consequences of increased street crimes in our society?
The high street crimes in our society today have been caused by the factors such as unemployment, which has been witnessed in the community, particularly among the youths. Due to idleness, they engage in criminal activities. Unfair court ruling when deciding civilians has fuelled crime activities in society. Poverty is another contributing factor that has made people lose hope in society. Furthermore, harsh family conditions and peer influences have led to increased street crimes due to a lack of moral support and guidance among civilians (NetNewsLedger, 2019). The increased crime activities have resulted in several consequences in society, such as disruption of economic activities due to increased and continued conflicts, destruction of trading enterprises, stealing valuable goods and services, and killing prominent business-oriented people by robbers (McGrory, 2018).
