Response Paper 6
The article "Understanding the roles of cultural differences and socioeconomic status in social media continuance intention" by Hsu et al. (2015) evaluates how socioeconomic status and cultural difference affect continuance intention. The paper proposes that information seeking, entertainment, self-presentation, and socialization are the primary factors that affect social media intention. Data was collected from 493 Facebook users from Japan, Austria, Australia, the USA, and Taiwan. This data was then used to test the model that the paper proposed. In examining the relationship in the model, the partial least squares method was applied. The subgroup analysis method was also used to assess the roles of socioeconomic status and cultural differences.
Results of the study showed that information seeking has a robust effect on the intention and continuance of individualistic cultures and their users. Self-presentation and socialization significantly affect the intention and continuance of collective cultures and their users. On the other hand, entertainment influences the intention and continuance of lower education level users. For users with higher income levels, the effect of information seeking and entertainment on intention and continuance is more substantial. Self-presentation also has a robust effect on the intention and continuance of low-income level users.

After analyzing these variables, relevant concepts were determined and introduced systematically. The proposed hypothesis and the casual relationships were aggregated into models for easy statistical analysis.
The study used a qualitative approach and analyzed various previous studies to support their evidence. The research methodology was focused on the tools, research process, and procedures to achieve the aim of the research. Empirical observations to satisfy the hypothesis were made. Before determining the type of methodology to be used, the study's objectives were well-articulated. During data analysis, specific steps were identified to provide a sy...
