Students' transition from middle school, high school, and college lead to anxiety and nervousness. The students gain more responsibilities as they climb their ladder of academic success. However, students have an exciting time with new opportunities and experiences. Being prepared for these new opportunities and experiences is important to ease the difficulty of transitioning between these academic categories. The American education has plenty of choices for its students that overwhelm them. Therefore, it is important to familiarize me with the American education system, which could help develop career choices in the education plan.
According to Applebee & Langer (2015), before higher education, the students attend primary and secondary school consisting of 12 years, and many refer to it as the first through twelfth grades. In the United States, children begin the education process at six years and then transition to secondary school. Secondary consists of prominently two programs known as middle school and high school. The middle school students undertake national examinations, enabling them to qualify for high school. Academically, high school students attain a certificate or a diploma upon graduation to allow them entry to college or university. Higher education institutions offer undergraduate degrees according to the field of the respective learners. Responsibilities increase as the students move from one level to another.
Moreover, students specialize more in their field from middle school to college studies. I had an intent to help other people since childhood, and I participated in a lot of community in my middle and high school programs.
