Applying to Harvard Master's Summer School Program

Personal statement
My name is ……………and currently, a student doing a master's degree at the University of Queensland. I have a desire to go to the Harvard summer school program. I believe that by participating in the exchange program at Harvard's summer school program, I will reap numerous great rewards and benefits. I have not been lucky enough to have visited the university, but I feel that going on an exchange will be the perfect opportunity to experience a different life. Being a master’s student, I feel more than ready to undertake this journey. From my participation in the exchange program at Harvard summer school program, I hope to attain a greater comprehension of the culture in the United States, particularly that of Harvard. Besides, the experiences gained through my participation in the exchange program will significantly benefit my future career and life after university.
However, despite my desire to participate in the Harvard summer school program, my GPA is lower than the requirement. However, the low score in my GPA cannot be linked to my laziness in schoolwork, but to the difficult moments, I went through last semester. During the early days of the semester, I was diagnosed, and I had to undergo some surgery. The wound took a long time to heal, and by the time I was stable to attend classes, the semester was on the verge of ending, and I hardly could manage to catch up with what had been covered in the course.
