I normally drive my car on a day-to-day basis. Whenever I drive, I feel that I am in control since I can steer my way through life, wherever I want, for those few hours. I control how the car behaves and how I react to situations around me. I drive from one place to the other, and sometimes as I drive, I stop to look at beautiful sceneries, take pictures and move on. When I am driving my vehicle, I get my personal space, go anywhere I want, stop wherever I like, and sometimes sleep in it. I have driven a lot across continents for long hours, and if there were roads and I had time, I would drive across the world on wheels.
An action potential occurs when various ions cross the neuron membrane. A stimulus initially opens sodium channels. When a nerve or muscle fiber is activated, a potential difference between the inside and outside of the fiber exists to relay nerve signals (Bean, 2007). Once an action potential has been started, it cannot be stopped. It applies to driving since the action is required to start and maintain a vehicle. Once you have started the engine, you create an action potential. For you to halt the action potential, you apply the brakes and park the vehicle.
