People are varied. These differences are not only observed through their external factors but also their internal capabilities. They have different likes, opinions, perspectives, standards, and more. When people build connection within their surroundings, they are limited, and this is where reflection, emotional intelligence, and empathy comes in.
Hoa & Tuan (2019) defined reflection as a process of critically analyzing both knowledge and experience to present and discover more meaning and understanding towards a chosen subject of thought. This presents the idea that people would understand more of their differences and accept them which would lead to a deeper connection. Just like how empathy is, where people completely understand a person’s circumstances which let them feel the same feelings as they have (Moudatsou, 2020), empathy creates more windows for people to emphasize the word understanding.
