1 What factors and forces contributed to scope creep in this case?
Based on the study, it is evident that scope creep affects many projects, which occurs if the scope expands with time. The expansion often leads to change in requirements, specifications, and priorities. Lucas and Anne’s plan on this Home Improvement Project was to invest $1,500. However, their plan altered and spent more than what the contractor had initially listed as the quote. For that reason, the scope creep began changing when they opted to purchase a more oversized bathtub, costing them more. The second inference of change in scope creep occurred when they opted to use a cedar frame instead of the original plastic frame after arguing that it was a future investment. Besides, the scope creep rose when they decided to use tile flooring and add lights in the bathtub. Accordingly, after making those adjustments, the couple realized that the water tank available did not meet the required capacity to provide water for the five family members. To solve this situation, the family opted for an extra hot tank and also updated the furnace section, making them spend $7,500 more.
