I feel that the role of a judge is far more important than the defense attorney, the prosecutor, and the probation officer. A judge is responsible for presiding over court proceedings. He has to perform his duties independently or in collaboration with other judges. The power, method of appointment and training programs of judges vary across different jurisdictions (Green, 2014, p. 43). He is supposed to listen to the arguments of two parties and must decide the case in one’s favor after going through all pieces of evidence and proves. The judge has to be honest, sharp-minded, dedicated, and hardworking since the job requires him to access and analyze the credibility of the arguments of the parties.
