This is the first of three assignments that, as a whole, will cover all aspects of the project life cycle relevant to your selected project.
Assume you have been selected to be the project manager for a project of your choice. The project that you use must meet the key criteria of a project. It must:
Have a beginning and an end.
Result in something being delivered to someone.
Require a series of activities that must be done to complete the project.
Require resources (for example, people and materials) to complete the work.
The project can be one of a personal or professional nature and must last for at least nine months.

Requirements
Write a 3–4 page paper in which you define the scope of your chosen project:
Provide a brief summary of your chosen project.
Describe at least two project goals and two project objectives.
Describe the project management structure that you will use to manage the project. Will you manage it via the existing functional structure of the organization, set up a projectized/dedicated project team, or use a matrix management structure? If you will use a matrix structure, which type will you use?
Identify the key customer (or customers) and at least two stakeholders for your project. Discuss their roles and their impact on the project. Remember that although you are delivering the project to your customer, there are others (stakeholders) who also have a vested interest in your project.

A Brief Summary of the Project
The project is implementing the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) that centralizes and streamlines HR processes in a small company. This IT project is beneficial to manage HR management needs, including the payroll system where there is an integration of the HR functions (Shahreki et al., 2019). Users will have access to updated and accurate HR records with data mainly being used internally. There is likely to be improved administrative efficiency, including better information accuracy and HR productivity improvements. Increasingly, companies are relying on centralized HRIS solutions to meet their HR needs. A well selected and highly trained workforce can fix problems that human resource systems cannot do on their own, but systems can give organizations a competitive edge. Successful launch of the system is accompanied by training and preparation so that the users are well placed to use the HRIS where there is also testing and validation (Kerzner, 2017). Implementing the HRIS is meant to improve the HR system, payroll management, and efficiency. There is also a need to access validated information at the right time for decision making. The project will benefit the organization and the employees who will use the system.

The HRIS is useful for acquiring, manipulating, analyzing, processing, retrieving, and sending data and information on an organization's human resources (Lippert & Swiercz, 2005).
2 Meet the organization's business needs and functionalities that the system users require- The HRIS needs to be relevant, and the shareholders are more receptive to changes when they understand the system's benefits.

1 Determine the requirements established by the organizations and intended users of the system to implement a new HRIS to optimize HR and payroll functions. The HRIS functionalities should meet the users' needs where employee participation in implementing the system is associated with successful planned change.
