Project Description
The main purpose of this project is to construct a facility of St. Dismas that will provide medical services and accommodation for approximately 150 elderly people, with or without impairments. Different programs that will benefit their health and wellbeing will be made available. Examples of these programs will be behavioral management, physical therapy, and preventive and wellness programs. This facility is open to the elderly needing assistance due to impairments and disabilities, as well as to healthy elderly patients. This project will also address the business concerns of the president and CEO of St. Dismas regarding the decreased number of admitted patients in the medical center resulting in low revenues. The facility will be next to the St. Dismas Medical Center. This is a good decision in terms of maximizing the available resources that the hospital has that will help in the treatments and services that will be offered to the patients. Good quality service at an affordable price will be offered to the middle-class population, targeting the elderly in St. Dismas..
The objective of the project is to construct a building with the necessary furnishings that would render a high-quality facility prepared with competent employees and effective medical services, available for both long and short-term to the geriatric population, and to increase the generation of income for St. Dismas and its various stakeholders. The high-level requirements of the St. Dismas Assisted Living Facility project are land ownership, construction requirements, competent staff, and quality equipment. These are the necessary documents and factors that need to be met for the project to achieve its objectives.
The tangible measures that will be used to evaluate the success of the project will be the project schedule, quality, and performance. The project schedule will be continuously evaluated and updated for it to be completed at the expected time and will serve as one of the determinants of the project’s success. Another measure will be a quality review to check if the deliverables per phase of the project are accomplished as planned. Lastly, the satisfaction of the stakeholders will also be assessed, although this is challenging to quantify but is still beneficial in determining if the project is considered a success.
Project Assumptions and Constraints
The project assumptions for the St. Dismas Assisted Living Facility are the following:
1 The facility would cater to 110 to 150 elderly patients.
