• I think you have done a great job this week. The HR portals, as stated by you, are used for making the information available for the employees so that the employees do not need to engage with the HR manager all the time. This reduces the time wastage in the organization. Even the HR portals are a good tool for communicating with the new employees as the aspired candidates. On the other hand, the shared service center refers to the HR delivery concept where functions like payroll, leaves, orientations, initiation, recruitment, and selection are included. This is a centralized department and information system for all the functional departments for streamlined operation.

I worked on a project to develop a Policy Portal for my company, we were to build a HR portal that would house all of the policies for the company in one location and create a single source of truth. This would not only create a standard format but put more governance around version control of the documents. We worked with a consultant that provided evidence from a study that an employee on average spent 48 hours per year searching for the right documents where a portal did not exist, this meant we could potentially save each employee that used policies six days per year of time. We found in our search of the company's network over 14,000 versions or copies of the vacation policy, it had regularly been saved and shared without any reference to a version. What are some advancements that you believe could still be made on HR portals?

There are many advantages of Human Resource Portals and shared services centers. One example of an HR portal is the HRIS these types of portals and systems allow for human resource tasks to be operated and managed in a timely manner and profiles to remain updated. This also allows staff and other entities to have information that is designated to them including training, resources, and other personal data. Having access to these portals allows for the HR department to reach across an organization more efficiently and effectively. "By consolidating these tasks and software under one HR shared services team, most companies will see an increase in efficiency and cost savings." (Stevenson, 2021). Having the human resource portals and human resource shared systems the employee experience will be much better. having the chance to find answers and ask questions through this can allow for employees to get information and answers quickly and have the chance to contact human resources without stopping their tasks and taking much time from the day to head down to HR for things that can be resolved through a portal or information on the server.

The rapid advancement of technology should be reflected in organizations through various ways, such as implementing human resource (HR) portals. Indeed, effective communication between the HR department and employees is crucial for workers to understand their roles and responsibilities. On that note, one of the advancements that I believe could be made on HR portals is the inclusion of the duties and tasks section of different job positions. May it be existing or new employees, at some point, these individuals need confirmation that what they are doing in a firm entails the things they are expected to do. Additionally, I agree with Cooper that workers remain updated on any changes in their respective job positions and are likely to adhere to revised rules, if any, without wasting time. HR portals or shared service centers facilitate the centralization of the HR department and proper management and streamlining of operations.
