The two videos provide a comprehensive review of the lives of expatriates and foreigners in Hong Kong, agreeing that it is replete with challenges. For instance, the video by HKU Journalism (2009) reveals that western professionals are isolated from the local Chinese, making it difficult to assimilate. Similar experiences emerge among South Asians like Indians in the video by South China Morning Post (2022). Being treated differently makes it challenging for the two groups to blend with the rest of society, leading to the formation of foreign communities.
