Leadership Portfolio Outline
This paper outlines some of the topics that are likely to be contained in the leadership assessment exercise. The paper focuses on two leaders, Kofi Annan (former UN Secretary General) and Condoleezza Rice (Former US Secretary of State). The outline will focus on the qualities that are common to all leaders and it will act as the guide for the comparison of the two leaders.
Outline
Introduction
The introduction will entail the factors that led to the choosing of the two leaders. These will include their inspirations as well as other factors such as being members of the minority group. Their rise to such senior and prestigious positions despite coming from the minority groups will be the main area to look into. There will also be short biographies on the two leaders that will serve as an introduction of the readers to the leaders in focus.
Leadership Styles
This part will touch on the styles of leadership applied by each of the two leaders during their time in the offices they held. The styles will be based on both what is written about the two and personal observations on the most applicable styles of leadership that each opted to apply.
Influence
The individual influence of each leader will be assessed based on how much contributions each made during their times in office and the levels of support each received. Fortunately, each leader had an opportunity to focus on matters to do with Africa. This section will analyze their levels of influence on common ground especially in Africa and the responses to the policies they made for Africa will determine the measure of influence that each had on the continent.
