In a time of crisis, as is presented by the current pandemic of Covid-19, leaders need to provide direction on how their organizations can remain agile. Leaders provide measures within which an organization can or cannot be evaluated. In most countries, politicians, epidemiologists, and virologists predominate in the Covid-19 response teams (Rajan et al., 2020). Developing a clear mission is as essential as establishing good core values. An excellent example of a mission statement would be "Becoming a crucial part of the development of our stakeholders by providing differentiated services aimed at helping them achieve their aspirations." This mission statement cannot, however, be realized without instituting specific core values in the organization. A good leader needs to understand what is best and not workable for the company's overall performance.
Good core values help guide performance and relationships within an organization. Deals, in this case, keep evolving as an organization grows. Therefore, what was first relevant to the organization may no longer be applicable given current circumstances. Examples of core values to help a company grow in times of turbulence, such as in the current business environment, would be compassion, accountability, respect, integrity, and teamwork. These values should help support the mission statement as well as the vision statement of the company. In addition, the values should guide relationships and daily operations in the organization (Verhoeven, Tsakitzidis, Philips & Van Royen, 2020). Moreover, these values can best be achieved through transparency and constant communication with the stakeholders.
Compassion helps create a positive emotion that allows employees and the organization to show their ability to support and aid their customers and the community as a whole. In addition, compassion helps in increasing motivation and satisfaction among employees. It also helps in improving engagement and loyalty among employees (Dirani et al., 2021). On the other hand, accountability means honoring commitments and ensuring that customers get what they expect in terms of quality. The organization, in this case, recognizes the importance that customers place upon it in addressing their issues. Respect implies treating everyone with dignity and professionalism, be it a member of internal or external stakeholders. Integrity involves building trust by ensuring that all actions are responsible and honest. Finally, teamwork entails collaboration and working together as a team. This involves the active involvement of all stakeholders and constant communication.
Most leaders, financial backers, and partners watch and look at measures like benefits, stock cost, and deals, trying to more readily see how well their organizations are contending on the lookout, just as future anticipated outcomes. In any case, these actions give a brief look at authoritative execution.
