Question one: Leadership approaches in the 21st century
According to Northouse (2018), there are numerous leadership approaches that are being used in the current world starting with the adaptive leadership approach. The adaptive approach analyzes on leaders who encourage and assist individuals to accept and find solution to their challenges. Secondly, authentic leadership focuses on the legitimacy of leaders and their skills. The third approach is the spiritual leadership which analyzes values of leaders, their conscience and also ways on how they motivate their followers. The fourth approach is the servant leadership that shows how leaders care for their members and it emphasizes on helping followers to become knowledgeable and autonomous. Lastly, the gender-based studies which focuses on women and how their gender has an impact on leadership.
Question 2: Six leadership traits for successful leaders
Northouse (2018); Judge, Bono, Ilies and Gerhardt (2012) found out that a good leader is the one who is eloquent and prudent. Being intelligent means a person is well acquitted with their roles and their ability to be visionary. Secondly, confidence in leaders is identified when successful leaders are positive minded, believe in themselves and are courageous. The third trait is charisma in which an effective leader has the power to motivate, influence and lead by example. The fourth skill is determination whereby an exceptional leader is dedicated to performing roles diligently and withstands challenges. The fifth trait is sociability in which a functional leader maintains a healthy relationship with the masses. The leader is respectful and is one who offers guidance. The sixth skill is integrity whereby an effective leader is expected to be transparent and can be entrusted with roles. The leader is loyal and does exactly what people expect. Finally, from the above leadership traits, intelligence is the major trait because for one to be referred as a wise leader, they must show confidence, determination, charisma, love and loyalty to their followers.

The four domains are relationship building, executing, strategic thinking and influencing. Northouse (2018) defines a leader with a relationship building strength as a person with a positive mentality. He says an individual with such a trait will attract customers into the business.
