The five dimensions of managing change as described by Cummings and Worley (2015) can be integral in guiding organizational change. The five dimensions are motivating change, creating a vision, developing political support, managing transition, and sustaining momentum.
The first phase, motivating change, involves developing readiness for change among the members of the organization and addressing resistance to change. To develop readiness for change among the stakeholders, a leader can sensitize the organization about pressures for change and highlight differences between the organization’s current state and the desired state (Cummings & Worley, 2015).
