Understanding the elements that need integration for supply chain management is an essential task for any business. It allows them to be able to determine some of the fundamental elements needed for the growth, profitability, and success of the whole supply chain process. Accordingly, the three main elements that require this integration are (1) strategy, (2) processes, and (3) analysis CITATION Sch161 \l 1033 (Schönsleben, 2016). These three serves as the building blocks of any successful supply chains. In the succeeding sections of this article, the author would try to discuss these three in greater detail.
Building Block for Operational Success
The first element that requires integration is strategy. This concept refers to the strategies used by both supply chain and operations management, that is related to the overall goals of the system. For example, if the strategy of supply chain management is to streamline the delivery of goods using AI technology, then the operations management must also engage in the same strategy. Doing otherwise would result in different constraints that would not maximize or even render unusable the supply chain management’s strategy. Strategy can also relate to the small strategies that either operations or the supply chain are trying to establish. These small strategies are a crucial determinant for success.
