During the course of this course, I have gained various abilities. Four of the abilities I have gained are effective communication, effective time management, effective leadership skills, and team work. Whereas I have a primary career that I am pursuing, these abilities enable me to pursue project management as an alternative career.
Communication
The course has prepared me for my career, and I now feel that I fit in it effectively. I have developed succinct communication skills and effective leadership. This enables me to work with teams from different departments, although sometimes we may not be used to working together as a team. Members of the team thus possess different skills and this enables them to bring something unique to the table and enhance the efficiency of the project management process. I fit in this profession because of my being a great communicator, thus capable of providing clear expectations and instructions to the team; such instructions and expectations enhance the team members’ efficiency and productivity.
Effective time management skills
I have also acquired effective time management skills. The capacity to prioritize tasks and manage time is one of the characteristics that have made me an effective project manager and thus fitting in the profession. This characteristic has also resulted in fellow workers responding better to me since I am manager capable of staying on tasking, avoiding procrastination, and completing work on time.
