Part A2: Cleaning Plan
Step 1:
The areas/facilities that needs cleaning by the housekeeping department are duvet covers, pillow cases, towels, bath sheets, face cloths, and a bath mat. The ones that need to be outsourced are the cleaning products and equipment, and employees. The reason for this is if the cleaning products and equipment were outsourced, the hotel would not have to think about their maintenance and where to keep them all the time. As long as the hotel works with only 1 company and supplier they trust, it should be fine. The employees can be outsourced too and there are agencies that have a good reputation and they only send staff that are decent and trainable. The staff can always be oriented before putting them to work because every housekeeping department works with the same inventory. The introduction they need to have is their way around the hotel.
Step 2:
For the daily cleaning: Kitchen, Bathroom, Bedrooms, Family Rooms, Home Office, Utility Room and Entryway.
For the weekly cleaning:
Kitchen - Check for spills in the fridge and wipe them off, throw the old food away, the outside of the appliances should be cleaned, scrub the sink, vacuum rugs, and mop the floors.
Bathroom – Mop, clean the countertop and sink, wipe the doorknobs, clean the tub and outside of the toilet, empty the trash bin, and vacuum rugs.
Bedrooms – Change all sheets, vacuum the room, straighten other things.
