The four organizational learning traits are constant readiness, continuous planning, improvised implementation, and action learning (Weiss, 2016). Constant readiness means the learning organization is optimized for change, such that it can easily make adjustments to respond to changes in the environment. In regards to continuous planning, leaders in the learning organization focus on high-level strategies and flexible approaches instead of the mapping of every step of a process. Weiss (2016) points out that the focus on high-level strategies allows for rapid reevaluation and change of course when necessary. With the uncertainty of the modern business environment, the ability to reevaluate and adopt a new course is imperative for success.
