Hillary Gardner introduced the multiple intelligences inspired activity menus as a normal part of her ESOL/Civic classes in 2006. Having first tried the technique in a class session to review what students knew about industrialization to great success, she introduced the MI-inspired activity menus to the City of New York’s Adult Literacy Program instructors and collected sample lessons and responses from teachers (Gardner, 2011).
One of the responses I received from taking the self-assessments commented on my sense of self, my demeanor and learnability, and even suggested effective ways to enhance learning.
