One of the most usually debated topics is whether hobbies and the time that people allot pursuing them is actually productive or not. On one side of the spectrum, some people believe that hobbies are indeed important despite the fact that doing them could not be considered as productive since it consumes some of the time which could have been used for work. On the other side, some people also believe that pursuing hobbies are indeed important and productive, not in the sense that it helps you finish the tasks at hand, but rather in providing you the tools needed to do them. According to a study done by Dizik, pursuing in your hobbies (gaming in particular) while at work, helps better productivity, since it does not only allow a person to have fun and amusement but also to feel more in control and competent for any task at hand. As a firm believer of the latter part of the debate, I believe that engaging in one’s hobbies could easily give a person the emotional, psychological, as well as physical well-being in order to do more and to create more. Nonetheless, I also subscribe to the idea that not all hobbies are made the same.
