Introduction
Career management systems is an essential element in the organization as it assists the managers, employees, and the enterprise in identifying the career development needs of the individuals. Successful systems aid the employees to meet their target goals while linking them with essential people in the firm. These systems vary in the organizations, and the common components include self-assessment, goal setting, evaluation, and action planning. This paper evaluates major components of a career management system.
Self-assessment
Self-assessment involves the utilization of available information by the employees to assess their capacities, career interests, behavioral trends, opinions and values. The information, interest inventories, and tests are used to determine the career path of the employee. Through this, one is able to gauge the abilities of the employee in the enterprise based on the scores achieved in the assessment.
