Every company or organization has their own organizational culture, and before one gets into the specifics of what a strong organizational culture entails, it is indeed essential to grasp what organizational culture is. According to Maseko (2017), an organizational culture “is the organization’s orientation towards its employees and customers, and includes written and verbal circulated rules that guide the employees’ behavior added the aspect of stable beliefs, values, and principles developed and shared within the organization.” Therefore, the culture of an organization entails or involves the rules as well as principles guiding or shared by the employees of a particular organization. However, having values, beliefs, and solid principles is not enough to qualify an organization’s culture as strong. To be said to have a strong organizational culture, an organization needs to have a clear mission, enjoy solid upward and downward communication, and respect among the employees.
In the recent past, organizations have realized the benefit of having a strong learning culture and a good example is Google. Google is a tech-giant and there being stiff competition in the industry, the company decided to create or embrace a learning culture with the aim of attracting top talent from around the world. The company is not only providing its employees with the right tools they need to succeed in growing the business but also the tools and training they need to grow as individuals.
