Zarate Tech - Comprehensive Email / Meeting Request & Addenda

Essay Instructions:

You are asked to take on a leadership position and head a virtual team. This requires audience analysis as well as your understanding of team dynamics, particularly when dealing with a virtual team. You might want to review Chapters 9, 10, and 11, and look at your SDI.
You will find the case description in your Barrett textbook-Leadership Communication: Application 10.4 (pp. 278-279). Please read it carefully. You will find a more descriptive take on the assignment here within the course space. You will take on the role of the person who has been hired as the new Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Zarate Tech.
You have 4 brief deliverables:
By day 07 of Week 14 (next week), compose an email/meeting request to the team members you selected to work on this project; this first meeting will be over two days and take place in person at Zartech’s headquarters. Subsequent meetings will be virtual. Length: must be at least 1.5 but no more than 2.5 pages, single-spaced with appropriate headings. This is your opportunity to shine and show your persuasive and socio-emotional leadership skills. 70 points
You may make-up names for team members you invite. Your memo should be upbeat and motivational in tone and include:
An opening paragraph that provides information that covers questions about the “what, when, where, and why.”
One to three paragraphs that explain the background and purpose for the project. For example:
You may provide an external reason of why your company should work in virtual teams to manage sales, etc. (read the case).
What external benefits might this bring?
You may also touch on some of the internal challenges of working virtually but give reasons as to why doing so will benefit the company.
You may begin elaborating a bit on the process of these meetings and how you think your team can make this new way of communicating and collaborating work.
One paragraph that previews and summarizes the objectives for your team more specifically (what are the team tasks during the first meeting).
One paragraph that explains the attachments (meeting agenda, and tip sheet).
A closing paragraph that is motivational and includes contact/RSVP information.
By Day 07 of Week 14 (next week), establish a meeting agenda (one page; can be in form of a table—look at templates for agendas in MS-word and adapt your choice to your needs). The agenda should include meeting objectives and a schedule break down. On an additional page, create a tip sheet for your team members that offers best practices in working virtually that you think will help your team get off to a good start; this can include a mention of interactive tools you will want to include in your team’s shared workspace and why these tools will be helpful. (one page, can be in list form). 30 points.
2 PARTS -
1.Comprehensive email/meeting request (70)
2.Addenda: a two-day agenda and a virtual team collaboration tip sheet (30 for both)
