Using flattery can have both positive and negative consquences. On the one hand, it can help in improving the career of the employee if she can pull it off in such a manner that is effective and sincere. On the other hand, however, it can also lead to a strained relation between the boss and the employee especially in cases when flattery does not work. Accordingly, most of these consequences occur due to how the process happens.
