The Brief Research Summary
1. You must select an article on a topic related to MGB 301 or MGI 301 from:
a. A peer-reviewed journal (available online through UB Libraries’ EBSCO database). This does not include general newspapers or magazines.
b. The paper must have been published no more than 6 months prior to the date you hand it in.
c. The paper must contain empirical results (i.e., report the results of an experiment or survey conducted by the author and discussed in the article).
2. You must provide the first page of the article. If handing in via email, you can send the entire article, or screenshot the first page.
3. You must write a one-page summary of the research article that describes the article in your own words. Some areas you might cover in your summary are: hypotheses (what was being tested), participants, Results (whether the hypotheses were supported), and discussion or what the experimenters concluded. These are ideas only; you may summarize the article in any way you wish.
4. Plagiarism will be dealt with according to university policy. DO NOT copy from the article. Cite any ideas that are not your own.
5. Papers are due on or before Friday, May 7th at 11:59 pm. Papers are accepted any time during the semester. Please email Jordan Sobon the paper ([email protected]).
6. Check your syllabus for suggestions on where to find journals or which journals you might use.
This exercise is expected to take approximately 1 hour or less of your time and the length should be about 1 page of double-spaced 12-point Times type.

The article by Diaz‐Carrion et al. (2020) is a journal article that compares sustainable HRM of companies across different countries in Europe. This article suggests that various social models have been adopted in Europe because of social protection in different countries. The variations are due to the level of sustainability which varies across the countries. Countries that were involved in the study include; Germany, Spain, the UK, and Sweden.
This research method involved developing a measurement tool used to analyze sustainable HRM by including 77 items from previous research. The items were grouped into two categories; HR policies, staffing, compensation, training, career management, etc. The second category was CSR dimensions.
