Why I want to be a nurse
Everyone usually has a dream of being something in life. It is this dream that fires the ambition to achieve it. The most common traditional fields that most people have aspired to be include engineering, medicine, teaching, and aviation. Medicine is an expansive term that includes both doctors and nurses. When I was 8, my parents and I witnessed a gruesome accident as we were heading home from school. I had never seen anything so painful in my life. Luckily, there was a pregnant woman who said she was a nurse and engaged in first aid before the arrival of the ambulance. This was when I decided I wanted to be a nurse. There are various reasons as to why I want to be a nurse, which mostly runs down to personal fulfillment.
It is indeed true that not everyone can be a nurse. It is more like a calling, as one decides to commit much of his life towards serving and helping others. Alongside teaching, nursing is indeed a call to serve humanity. Nursing is the easiest career where one can give and receive joy at the same time (Antony & Jack,2009). It is, however, hard for those people who are after cash first before anything else, as they already lack the basics that make a nurse. Nursing helps to show love and care for people, which is rewarding. In other terms, this is a profession that gives me personal fulfillment, as I have always felt some sense of satisfaction when I help people who are in need.
It is a flexible profession and provides me with the chance to travel all over the globe. It is one of the careers where one can work anywhere in the wo
