Water is an essential resource for human existence. Without access to clean and safe drinking water, people cannot survive, leave alone developing the economy. Recently, water.org report portrays that approximately 785 million individuals worldwide cannot access safe drinking water (Water.org, 2019). If proper measures are not implemented to reverse the trend, this problem will affect many people. On that note, Jacob Revnew is right by saying that the water crisis is a significant issue that has adverse effects on the economy.
Many economic sectors, namely education, life, healthcare, social activities, and manufacturing, rely on water (Moss, 2019). In other words, without access to this vital resource, these realms cannot function effectively and efficiently. For example, students cannot obtain relevant knowledge when they are thirsty. Doctors cannot treat various illnesses when their patients cannot access safe drinking water. For employees to be productive and participate in constructive activities, they require water to facilitate their health.
