According to my worldview, the value of a human being can refer to the beliefs and practices of people. People have the autonomy to decide how their life should be built and what practices are allowed in their religion and culture. The value of human beings is intrinsic because it is derived from God, who made human beings in his image. In Genesis 9:5-6, the scripture asserts that anyone who takes the life of another person should be held accountable. Such acts are punishable by God through the human representatives. Human life is divine, and the self-worth of an individual is the basis of a moral vision of society. The value of human life is intimidated by stem cell research, abortion, cloning, and designer babies.
Abortion
In the ancient world, abortion was a common practice. However, the Bible does not mention abortion directly, but we can read about the significance of human life and what it takes to take the life of another person. The main problem regarding abortion starts when life begins. The Bible teaches us that the fetus that is found in the womb is a living creature bearing God's image. When someone does abortion, then the sixth commandment that prohibits people from killing is broken. In Prov. 6:16-17, the Bible says that "He hates hands that shed innocent blood,"
