Reasons Why Females’ Restrooms are More Congested than Men’s
After conducting a close assessment, I noticed that there are several reasons why female restrooms appear more congested than those of their male counterparts. Some of these reasons include sexism, the building codes that govern construction, the demands of real estate, dress code, and the activities involved. In my view, sexism is one of the prevalent issues that escalate congestion in restrooms. For example, men consider women weak because of their sex and inability to withstand pain or severe conditions. Besides, I resonate that women spend more time in restrooms because of their privacy preference over comfort.
The dress code of women is a factor that limits the creation of gender-neutral lavatories. In my opinion, after exiting the restroom cabin, women require time to freshen up, touch up their hair and make-up, and spray themselves to ensure that they remain beautiful and glowing for remaining part of the event or day. Additionally, some of the activities undertaken by women visiting washrooms are among the factors that contribute to extended periods. Some of these activities include opening and closing the door and taking off and on heavy dresses. I resonate that women would spend less time if all expected of them were to walk in and out of the urinal-cabin like their male counterparts.
