Considering my past experiences, I have worked in a civilian career in which I took to gain inspiration towards becoming a RN. I have additionally engaged myself in the military occupation in which I strived to do civil affairs. These are positions that have taught me skills and knowledge, such as staying as hard-working as possible. I therefore would like to apply such skills as cultural competence to my interactions. A good registered nurse has to be well equipped in working amongst different cultural backgrounds and I have gained my skills in that. Also, from being a manager, I have learned excellent time managing skills which will perfectly fit in my career as a nurse. I seek to manage my roles with good time management techniques to emerge out successfully.
Furthermore, as a leader in the army, I have learned management skills and I will apply them in my career, especially to advocate for patients more effectively and ensure that they acquire the best services ever. I am also able to guide patients as they receive their medications and manage them better since I have good experiences with leading people from the army. As a leader, I am more tough and able to handle tough decisions. I will use these skills to help patients make the right decisions in regard to whatever medications they are receiving. From being a leader in the army, I have learned to the ability to persevere hardships. I will be well molded in being a better nurse and work more effectively with the idea that I am stronger especially regarding any hardships I might encounter.
