Membership of a Certified Public Accountants Americans Institute is free of charge. A Member accepts the responsibility of self-discipline over and beyond rules and regulations by joining the membership. The Code of Professional Conduct principles represent the profession's acknowledgment that they are accountable to the public, customers, and colleagues. They help members in carrying out their work duties and convey the fundamental principles of professional and ethical behavior. Even for personal gain, the Principles demand an unwavering dedication to honorable conduct.
Responsibilities principle
Members must apply sensitive professional and moral judgments in all their actions while carrying out their obligations as professionals. Members play a vital role in society as professionals. In accordance with this function, all people who employ their professional services are the responsibility of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants(Collins & Schultz, 2018) . Members are also continually responsible for cooperating to enhance the accountability art, preserve trust and exercise the specific duties of the profession in terms of self-governance. All members must make joint efforts to preserve and promote the heritage of the profession.
The Public Interest principle
The recognition of the public's duty is a distinctive feature of the profession. The audience of the accounting profession comprises customers, creditors, governments, entrepreneurs, investors, the corporate, financial community, and others who rely on members' impartiality and honesty in keeping trade in a proper manner. This trust requires members to have a public interest. The common good of the community of individuals and organizations that serve the profession signifies public interest. Members shall undertake to act in a manner that addresses these issues of public interest, honors public confidence, and shows their professional dedication (Mintz, 2019). Members may experience competing pressure from each of these groups to fulfill their professional obligations.
