Globalization should not be perceived as an ideological tool. Globalization is the result of advances in a human invention that have allowed people worldwide to be linked. When one thinks of globalization, technology comes to mind. This is true because the term globalization was coined in the advent of technology. Before globalization, countries relied on their local industries to produce products almost entirely consumed in the country. For instance, Hershey’s bar would not have been found in an African country in the mid-twentieth century. However, the chocolate brand is the most popular in the United States (U.S.).
Before the internet, globalization stemmed from producers selling the same products worldwide. This typical consumption of similar products allowed us to advance our trade to enjoy products from each of our countries. For instance, due to globalization, sushi has become a shared meal in almost all the countries in the world. The product is original and could only be found in Japan. However, due to a growing demand for the product, restauranteurs worldwide are including the meal in their menus.
Globalization should not be treated as an ideological tool because it is part of human advancement. Ideas can be implemented.
