The article examines education inequality based on two intertwined dynamics; the extent of education inequality in populations and the relationship between education inequality and inequalities in earnings and employment opportunities. To clearly understand the extent of education inequality in populations, gender, race, and ethnicity are presented as significant factors. Indeed, even today, minorities and people of color experience education and income inequalities more than other races. The article is important as it clearly addresses the link between educational inequality, earnings, and employment opportunities.

The article addresses education inequality from a parental view rather than economic. Parents influence on how children access education by how they engage with teachers and their children at home. The author presents critical theory, feminist theory, postmodernism, and poststructuralism as the best concepts of understanding how white and black parents are treated in school environments. However, black parents can ensure that their children access quality education through critical parent engagement; recognizing how issues related to race and racism in schools affect their children.
