Are barbiturates a drug that enhances sociability, or does it diminish it?
Barbiturate diminishes sociability as using them gives one a killer rush that makes one pass out for about one minute before gaining consciousness and shooting up again and passing out. Consequently, people who are consistently passed out cannot have an active social life. Also, the drugs are defined as central nervous system depressants whose primary benefit is sedating a user and shrinking them to near unconsciousness as they enjoy its short-lived effects.
What does the use of barbiturates tell us about the people who use this drug?
People who use barbiturates are those looking to forget what is going on in their lives and around them due to the pain, suffering, or despair they may be experiencing. Since the drug offers an extremely intoxicating and electrifying high for a short time, the overwhelming experience puts them out of their misery. Barbiturate users are individuals who have utilized other types of drugs and do not enjoy the exciting euphoria associated with drug use over time. Thus barbiturate, a hard drug, becomes their choice for the incredible high.
