Hazards are risks or dangers or situations that pose a certain levels of risk to health, property, environment and life. The magnitude of hazards range from low levels to high levels and each level requires a certain degree of response.
Owing to the technological advancement, hazards in most parts of the world have increased. The most outstanding natural local hazards are: ultra violet radiations, air pollution, earthquakes and noise pollution. On the other hand, man attributed hazards are: accidents, collapse of building, underground leakages of gases and other harmful substances as well as water pollution.
