How do the chapters relate to each other?
           The chapters in this assignment include "Your Idea is Only as Good as Its Story," in Advocacy by Daly (2011) and "Make a Compelling Phone Call," in The One Hour Activist by Kush (2004). These chapters are related to persuading others through a conversation using a compelling and emotional story that connects with the listener's attention and understanding. Both authors are well aware of the power of storytelling, where the audience can easily absorb complex ideas. Additionally, the chapters talked about the advantages and disadvantages of delivering a persuasive conversation since it is not only important what you say but how you say it. For instance, in the discussion of Kush (2004), making a compelling phone call should build a relationship using a brief story to increase a person's chances of persuading the person at the receiving end. However, the caller should be careful about the limitations of phone calls, such as the length of the call and the clarity of voice. The caller should be direct to the request of action, but it should also contain follow-up information or a short and truthful story to build a relationship using the human side of the issue. The same is true in the discussion of Daly (2011) about how a compelling story should be told. If the story is poorly delivered, the people listening will lose interest and stop listening unless the speaker can create a short narrative that can engage and arouse the curiosity of the listeners.
