Critical thinking is defined as a skill that requires one to question whatever we read or listen to; the information gained should adequately be evaluated for honesty or biasness. It explores different aspects of the issue, using various problem-solving skills to determine the best solution. Problems can be solved through critical thinking by involving multiple elements of critical thinking. They include; evaluating, gathering accurate information, and defining the problem. This essay will analyze how critical thinking and problem-solving are applied in Kush's readings about creating a legislative agenda.
In action five, Kush teaches the reader how a bill in the United States of America becomes a law. The statements address problems that require to be solved by making them law (Kush,2011). Some of these bills revolve around the issues society faces, like issues of abortion. The bill passes through various stages where voting occurs before the president signs it to make it a law. Voting is done by both committee and non-committee members. During the voting process, the pros and cons of passing the bill are weighed so that the members can decide on whether it is safe to pass the bill or not. This action is essential during problem-solving because one must gather accurate information to help him/her evaluate the problem.
