Hearing the Poet
My poets are Juliana Gray and Kamilah Aisha Moon. Each poet finds a unique way to express themselves through their work. While Gray's poems are easier to understand, Moon's poems have a great mystery. One of the things I liked about the poems is how well they were structured. The two poets use sound devices, short lines, and phrases. These are the essential elements of good poetry, and they can be found in each of the poems. The only thing I disliked about some of the poems is that they had very long sentences. These long sentences tended to erode the rhythm and flow of the poem.
