The constitutional milestone sought to bring a stop to discrimination across the racial or gender basis that were so rampant in the nation leading to the civil rights movement during the mid-20th century. However, the country still struggles with some elements of the equal rights provision embedded in the law as witnessed in the recent repealing of Title IX by the Trump administration. The National Public Radio’s online publication titled, Trump Administration Rescinds Obama Rule on Transgender Students' Bathroom Use, highlights one of the contentious issues arising from the equal rights provision. The federal law offered transgender students the right to use both restrooms and locker rooms that matched their chosen identities. Provided herein, are the key arguments supporting the nullification of the federal law as well as the opposing views on the same. According to the White House, the enactment of Title IX and its enforcement to the administration of school districts across the nation did not follow the right process for implementation.
